The HK G56 is an assault rifle designed by Heckler and Koch in 2142. The weapon uses an unusual vacuum-sealed gas operated bolt, which allowed the weapon to stay tightly sealed during cycling, and as such is one of the most reliable weapons on the market, surviving multiple mud tests and still going on to fire 600 rounds with only 3 malfunctions. The G56 uses a new 6.7x46 cartridge that has very high armor piercing qualities, and feeds from a 25 round box magazine with a digital ammo counter near the iron sights. The weapon has gone into service with the British SAS, German Kommando Spezialkräfte, and US Army Rangers.
