C-24 Home Defense Weapon is a SMG manufactured by Koprulu Marine Supply.
It is designed for extremely short range combat, usually inside a small building or ships. It is also specialized in simplicity and reliability to the point where it can fire flawlessly after up to 5 years of abandonment, and effectively functional up to 10 years. These reliability, however, came with downside of high weight yet sharp recoil, hence the low fire-rate.
It can accept any 12.7mm X 180mm rounds used in the sector, but it is released with specialized "Armor-Buster" rounds. These ammunition, like the gun itself, is designed to last years of abandonment. These can be seen as a bullet version of bunker buster bombs, where the front tip uses its cone-shaped(no force out the base of cone, tip facing forward) charge to bust open enemy armor and the remaining projectile digs deep into flesh and explodes 0.1 second after it is fired. This explosion scatters lead shrapnel across the body while explosion itself neutralizes all organs within 10cm radius, provided it detonated inside human body without any major augmentations.
The reason range is short is because the shrapnel explosion occurs 0.1 sec after it leaves the barrel. The front armorbusting charge can be propelled by this explosion but the shrapnel explosion isn't directed well so the shots will tilt severely.
The armor piercing explosion is enough to penetrate all commercial armors and spacesuits, but is ineffective against military grade armors and thick hulls of buildings and ships.
