PMG MG WWII

The MG44.

The MG46 (Machine Gun - 1946) is a light machine gun that was formerly produced by Bodan & Adams Firearms Co. that was used in the U.S Army and the US Marines in limited numbers throughout the Korean War. It was based on the Browning M1919 series.

History[]

Hearing news that the M1919A6 had (pretty much) failed it's intentional role, Francis Johnson, a lead designer at B&A (at the time), had the idea of a machine gun that would be like the M1919A6 but actually be GOOD in it's intentional role. He proposed this idea to John Bodan, the founder of B&A. Bodan liked the idea, and then told it to Richard (Adams), hoping to get his approval. Unsurprisingly, he approved the idea, and so they commanded B&A to start work on a LMG that would be a lightweight belt-fed machine gun. ~4 years later, it was finished, and named the MG46 . It was adopted by the US Army and Marines as the M4430 LMG.
