The Artemis P-9 is the successor to the Artemis P7, designed by Artemis Weapons Company for the concealed carry market in association with their child company, Hammond Technologies. The P9 is the worlds first "smart pistol", using electronics in the hand guard and slide to display the ammo on a digital screen on the back, displaying a digitized padlock when the weapon is locked up. The weapon can be locked by a button also on the backplate of the slide, under the ammo counter. On the side of the weapon, there is a thumb rest similar to the glock but is actually a fingerprint identifier that unlocks the gun for firing. The gun is configured using a micro-usb cable that plugs into both the smartphone and the gun, allowing for setup. Up to ten fingerprints can be on the authorized list, the sight luminescence can be configured to display different colors for different actions, the pistols location can be tracked, as well as displaying shot data (when and where the trigger was pulled and if the shot malfunctioned) The P9 contains a built in 5 mw laser sight that can be used in tandem with the Hammond HoloVision 2.3 sunglasses utility HUD to display a dot where the shot will land, as well as using AI to detect potential hostiles (i e other persons holding firearms).
