The lithium-ion battery was designed by General Electric, and can provide 40 full power shots, located within the detachable rubber handgaurd. Due to safety concerns regarding an unstable shot, charge is not stored in the rails whilst idle, and a 3 second charging period is required before a shot, initiated by holding down the two-part trigger to halfway, then squeezing the trigger the rest of the way.

The Artemis Excalibur is a man portable railgun that is designed to complement the M107 as an anti

material and even an anti tank weapon. Development of the Excalibur started in 2022 by the Artemis Weapons Company Experimental Technologies Division, with help from General Electric. The Excalibur is the cutting edge of magnetic accelerator type weapons, and is still in prototype phase. It uses a specially designed cartridge, the XM-4004 .63 caliber slug, made with a depleted uranium core and an very tough jacket made from titanium alloy. The case is short, with only a small amount of propellant needed to get the slug moving, then most of the velocity is provided by 4 positive/negatively charged rails, in the open accelerator housing, propelling the slug up to mach 6 speeds. Rounds are stored in a 5 round detachable box magazine, and are chambered by a manually-cycled bolt. The frame is made from magnelica, a lightweight but strong metal pioneered by Kyle Layton of Vector Monsters, and weighs around 21 pounds. The lithium-ion battery was designed by General Electric, and can provide 40 full power shots, located within the detachable rubber handguard. Due to safety concerns regarding an unstable shot, charge is not stored in the rails whilst idle, and a 3 second charging period is required before a shot, initiated by holding down the two-part trigger to halfway, then squeezing the trigger the rest of the way.
